Multi-wavelength afterglow emission from bursts associated with magnetar flares and fast radio bursts

چکیده

Magnetars have been considered as progenitors of magnetar giant flares (MGFs) and fast radio bursts (FRBs). We present detailed studies on afterglow emissions caused by that occur in their wind nebulae surrounding baryonic ejecta. In particular, following the bursts-in-bubble model proposed Murase, Kashiyama \& M\'esz\'aros, we analytically numerically calculate spectra light curves such emission. scan parameter space for detectability signals, find a burst with $\sim10^{45}~{\rm erg}$ is detectable Very Large Array or other next-generation facilities. The detection multi-wavelength emission from MGFs and/or FRBs great significance localization revealing progenitors, estimate number events.

Gamma-Ray Bursts from Extragalactic Magnetar Flares

The prototype for events that we call MFs—“March Fifth” events or “Magnetar Flares”—was observed on March 5, 1979. There is evidence that MFs are powered by catastrophic magnetic instabilities in ultra-magnetized neutron stars. These events begin with brief (∆t ∼ 0.1–1 s), intense, hard spikes of gamma rays, probably emitted in concurrence with relativistic outflows; followed by long (t ∼ 100 s...

Afterglow Emission from Naked Gamma-ray Bursts

We calculate the afterglow emission for Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) going off in an extremely low density medium, referred to as naked bursts. Our results also apply to the case where the external medium density falls off sharply at some distance from the burst. The observed afterglow flux in this case originates at high latitudes, i.e. where the angle between the fluid velocity and the observer li...

Optical and Long Wavelength Afterglow from Gamma-ray Bursts

We discuss the evolution of cosmological gamma-ray burst remnants, consisting of the cooling and expanding fireball ejecta together with any swept-up external matter, after the gamma-ray event. We show that significant optical emission is predicted which should be measurable for timescales of hours after the event, and in some cases radio emission may be expected days to weeks after the event. ...

Off-axis Afterglow Emission from Jetted Gamma-ray Bursts

We calculate gamma-ray burst (GRB) afterglow light curves from a relativistic jet as seen by observers at various viewing angles, vobs, relative to the jet axis. We describe three increasingly more realistic models and compare the resulting light curves. An observer at , where v0 is the initial jet opening angle, should see v ! v obs 0 a light curve very similar to that for an on-axis observer....

High Energy Afterglow Emission from Gamma-Ray Bursts

We calculate the very high energy (sub-GeV to TeV) inverse Compton emission of GRB afterglows. We argue that this emission provides a powerful test of the currently accepted afterglow model. We focus on two processes: synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) emission within the afterglow blast wave, and external inverse Compton (EIC) emission which occurs when flare photons (produced by an internal proce...
